The Green Infrastructure Assessment Tool is an intuitive web-based tool that will assist the City of Melbourne to benchmark building scale green infrastructure at the planning stage.

HIP V. HYPE Sustainability has partnered with Little Sketches and Melbourne University's Thrive Research Hub to develop and deliver a web-based Green Infrastructure Assessment Tool.

Little Skteches

The Green Infrastructure Assessment Tool was developed through a process of:

_An assessment of the best available scientific evidence to inform the weightings of green infrastructure elements such as biodiversity and urban heat reduction.
_Engagement with existing tool owners (including CASBE and GBCA) to understand potential integration opportunities and incorporate learnings.
_Stress testing of the Tool with our networks of industry professionals to maximise relevance and usability.

The Tool is currently in pilot phase and continues to be tested and refined ahead of a broader market release which is anticipated for late 2019.

Although not likely to be a regulatory requirement, the City of Melbourne will request that the Tool is used for all development applications assessed.
