The City of Port Phillip first developed a Sustainable Design Strategy in 2006 to establish minimum ESD standards for Council buildings. HIP V. HYPE was engaged to review and refresh the existing strategy, most recently updated in 2013.

Through a review of current best practice and insights from Council staff, HIP V. HYPE developed a new suite of standards and implementation guidance to drive higher levels of ESD. Achievement of this will be supported by a range of actions relating to focuses of project management, decision making, monitoring & evaluation, education and awareness, and incentives.
