The development of a 775 hectare precinct in Western Melbourne provides substantial opportunity to embed sustainability initiatives from the outset. Building from existing analysis and planning undertaken as part of a previous Precinct Structure Plan process, HIP V. HYPE was engaged to develop a Sustainability Strategy for the precinct.
The development of the Western Melbourne Precinct Sustainability Strategy was informed by a range of activities including a desktop review of strategic and technical documents, a climate impact analysis and targeted stakeholder engagement. These informed a detailed analysis to determine priority initiatives.
