Once the home of Melbourne's iconic PBS community radio station, 47 Easey Street is now the headquarters of boutique design practice, BAR Studio. BAR Studio committed to preserving 30% of the original red brick warehouse while enhancing its functionality and sustainability, demonstrating adaptive architectural reuse and sustainable building practices.
To guide the sustainability strategy, BAR Studio engaged HIP V. HYPE to focus on building compliance, improving building envelope performance, and reducing potable water and energy use. Passivhaus principles were integrated to ensure optimal thermal comfort, while key LEED framework initiatives benchmarked the project’s sustainability outcomes on a global scale.
