The Tasmanian State Planning Office is currently reviewing planning controls for urban housing and residential development in Tasmania. Led by ERA Planning on behalf of the Tasmanian Government, the project aims to increase housing supply, affordability and diversity of housing types, with a view to develop recommendations that will inform future amendments to the State Planning Provisions (SPPs).

Leveraging our expertise in sustainability planning across Australian and international jurisdictions, HIP V. HYPE has been engaged to drive the sustainability ambitions of the project. This included a comparative analysis of best practice planning provisions, case studies and tools to support climate and sustainability outcomes in residential development, inputs into the Discussion Paper and the drafting of recommended improvements to subdivision standards.
