Context

HIP V. HYPE Sustainability was engaged to deliver a pilot project to co-create the 'Sustainable Malmsbury Action Plan' through a series of workshops with the local community.

The development of the 'Sustainable Malmsbury Action Plan' was facilitated through:

  • Designing of a community engagement process
  • Delivery of community events and a workshop series to define goals, actions and governance for the Plan.
  • Drafting of the Plan to provided high-level direction to guide the delivery of each action.
  • Ongoing processes of evaluation

The Action Plan provides the Malmsbury community with a practical pathway to ramp up their Climate Response. Perhaps more important than the Plan itself, the process of developing the Plan established new connections in the community that will improve resilience and collaboration, even outside the agreed actions.

Based on the success of this pilot Macedon Ranges Shire Council has received further internal funding to develop future plans with other communities within its municipality. Hv.H has recently been engaged to undertake similar work with the Woodend community.
