Context

HIP V. HYPE Sustainability was engaged by the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to deliver an analysis of sustainability opportunities for the Sunshine Priority Precinct, 14km west of the Melbourne CBD.

Through targeted engagement and analysis of local and international examples we delivered opportunities a range of opportunities relevant for the local context. We did this by:

  • Developing a suite of high-level sustainability opportunities through research, analysis and targeted engagement
  • Delivering an opportunities workshop to ensure the identified opportunities were relevant to the local context
  • Delivering a comprehensive final report with opportunities across governance, integrated water management, greening, energy and waste which were assessed based on desktop analysis of a suite of benefits and challenges, with case studies provided to demonstrate best practice across these opportunity areas

With significant growth expected in both jobs and population, this report provided input into the development of the Sunshine Roadmap. The Roadmap will ultimately guide the future development of the priority precinct.
