Context

A comprehensive review of existing Whitehorse strategies and plans uncovered relevant commitments, along with areas of strength and opportunity. Combined with insights from council and community engagement, HIP V. HYPE developed a strategy and supporting action plan to reflect Whitehorse's ambition and capacity, whilst avoiding duplication across Council’s suite of strategies.

The adopted Climate Response Strategy and supporting plan set objectives, targets and actions for Council’s corporate operations, together with guidance on how best Council can support the community to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.

  • Review of strategic documents and emissions profiles – Consultation with community, staff, executives and councillors
  • Development of strategy structure and content including target setting
  • Development of action plan and monitoring & evaluation framework
